Gokyo Lakes + EBC Trek — Frequently Asked Questions

Is Cho La Pass dangerous?
Cho La is a serious high pass (5,420m) that requires respect but is not technically dangerous for prepared trekkers with an experienced guide. The main challenge is a short section of glacial ice which may require crampons (provided). We only cross in good weather — if conditions are poor, we wait or reroute. Our guides have crossed Cho La hundreds of times.
