Day 2

Day 2: Fly to Lukla (2,840m) — Trek to Phakding (2,610m)

Early morning 35-minute flight to Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport, one of the world's most dramatic landings. Begin trekking through pine forests along the Dudh Koshi river. Cross suspension bridges to reach Phakding. Walking time: 3-4 hours.

Day 3

Day 3: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Follow the Dudh Koshi valley, crossing multiple suspension bridges. Enter Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo. The final steep climb to Namche Bazaar rewards you with your first Everest view on clear days. Walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 4

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

Critical rest day for altitude adjustment. Morning hike to the Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Afternoon free to explore Namche's market, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, or rest. You return to sleep at 3,440m — climb high, sleep low.

Day 5

Day 5: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,867m)

Contour trail with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Descend to the Dudh Koshi, cross the river, then climb through rhododendron forest to Tengboche — home to the Khumbu's largest monastery. Walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 6

Day 6: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,358m)

Descend through forest to Deboche, then climb gradually through thinning birch and rhododendron forest. The landscape transitions from lush alpine to high-altitude scrub. Arrive at Dingboche in a wide valley below the Lhotse wall. Walking time: 5-6 hours.

Day 7

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Second acclimatization day. Optional hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m) for 360-degree views of Makalu, Island Peak, and the Lhotse-Nuptse wall. Guide monitors oxygen saturation and checks for altitude sickness symptoms.

Day 8

Day 8: Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940m)

Trek alongside the Khumbu Glacier lateral moraine. Pass the stone memorials at Thukla Pass (4,830m), dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest. The air is noticeably thinner. Walking time: 4-5 hours.

Day 9

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164m) — Everest Base Camp (5,364m)

The summit day of the trek. Trek across rocky terrain to Gorak Shep, drop your bags at the lodge, then make the 2-3 hour push to Everest Base Camp. Stand at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall where expeditions launch for the summit. Return to Gorak Shep for the night. Walking time: 7-8 hours total.

Day 10

Day 10: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m) — Descend to Pheriche (4,240m)

Pre-dawn start for Kala Patthar, the famous viewpoint offering the best panoramic view of Everest's south face at sunrise. Descend all the way to Pheriche where the thicker air is a relief. Walking time: 7-8 hours.

Day 11

Day 11: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Long but rewarding descent retracing the route through Tengboche and back to Namche. The return journey feels different — you are coming back as someone who reached Everest Base Camp. Walking time: 6-7 hours.
